I remembered when I was small I used to hear that in KL people living in apartments or condominiums don't greet their neighbours even when they meet. Although there could be many factors leading to this, it is most probably due to the very low frequency of meeting each other in the first place, and usually people just have their front door kept shut anyway. I mean, when you walk out of your apartment door down the corridor to the lift of stairs how often do you meet people of other units? Even if you do you'd most probably just stared at each other and not utter a word...
Anyway walking down a long corridor alone, would you invoke a feeling of loneliness, or may be feel that the place is deserted? Don't get influenced by my photos here which were shot to make it look deserted or ghostly.... dark. Hahaha. These are just normal corridors from the condo I stay in.
