Recycling Campaign at UTAR

That's right, it's a campaign to promote more recycling among the student which is organized by the UTAR Community Service Society (CSS), and with Tzu Chi providing some interesting recycling exhibits.

Let's walk the test of recycling... are you up to it?

The Tzu Chi foundation also set up some exhibition of recyclable items and their recycled products.

...as well as video showing the recycling processes.

What do you think these plastic bottles can be recycled into?

...after being shredded and made into plastic pallets...

...

And here you have: clothes, gloves and blankets - made from recycled plastic bottles!
And they feel like normal cotton, too. Incredible.

Random Objects

Well then, everyday we encounter things we wouldn't care to notice. With a touch of photography they could be made a little more interesting, don't you think?

A Sennheiser headphone.

Scaffolding of a construction site.

Guitar strings...

Probably too hot for anyone to hold it?

Remember to please recycle your waste.

UTAR FEStival 2009

A festival sort of event held at the UTAR FES (Faculty of Engineering and Science) campus on 24 June 2009 - what better name is there than to call it "FEStival"?
Anyway it was a rare chance for students to have a break from those tiring lectures and assignments, and come here to have fun and relax. With performing entertainments, mini-games, and of course delicious food served by various societies, it is surely an event the students at UTAR could look forward to every year.

Wherever Dr Tan goes, people follows.

He also likes to try out the sport games around.

"Sing along with me!"

"Come any closer and I shall send you away with my shadowless kick!"

The charming Dance Club girls.

"Yeah, dancing's good! Come join us!"

"Oh singing not bad, too."

Yes, yes... throw your frustration into smithereens!

Now which of these would you have?

Elle and I.
